State Legislature Releases Bill Titles for Session

On January 8, the Maine Legislature released a preliminary list of approximately 2,000 bill titles submitted for consideration. Legislation addressing paid sick leave, workforce development, student debt forgiveness and the opioid epidemic are just a few of the subject areas that will be taken up by the Legislature this year.

The League’s lobbying team is currently analyzing the titles to determine which bills we will monitor and potentially engage in support/or against this session. Our bill to delay the implementation of LD 968, sponsored by Senator Heather Sanborn, has been assigned a title, An Act To Amend the Laws Governing Multiparty Accounts with Financial Institutions (LR 1180).

All bills will be assigned to committees for work sessions and consideration soon.
