Ellen Parent, Regulatory & Legislative Advocacy Coordinator

The League is pleased to announce the arrival of Ellen Parent as the League’s new Regulatory & Legislative Advocacy Coordinator. Ellen will fill a critical role helping credit unions with compliance.

A native of Orono, Ellen most recently worked as a Legislative Aide in the Maine Senate Majority Office. She holds a degree in Economics from Saint Michael’s College and in 2016, earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maine School of Law.

“Navigating the ever-changing world of regulations is challenging,” said Parent. “I am looking forward to combining my experience in politics and law to serve as a resource for Maine’s credit unions.”

In Ellen’s spare time, she coaches and judges high school speech and debate teams. She also serves as the treasurer for the Maine Forensic Association, the organization that sponsors public speaking opportunities for high school students in the state.
