Congresswoman Pingree visits Evergreen CU

While Congress is in recess, Congresswoman Chellie Pingree took time to stop by and visit Evergreen CU’s main office in Portland this week. “The value of having a member of Congress visit a credit union branch is immeasurable. We appreciate Congresswoman Pingree taking the time to stop by Evergreen CU for a visit, and for Jason Lindstrom and his staff for hosting a visit,” stated Todd Mason, President/CEO of the Maine CU League, who participated in the visit, as well.

Lindstrom said he “appreciated the opportunity to host Congresswoman Pingree and have her speak with staff and one of my board members, and to learn more about the many ways we serve not only our members but our community, as well.  We welcomed the chance to educate and inform Congresswoman Pingree about the credit union difference.  It also gets my team more politically involved by reinforcing the benefits of doing so.”

During her visit, Congresswoman Pingree reiterated her support for credit unions and “the crucial services you provide to members through lending and other products.”

Elise Baldacci, Vice President of Governmental Affairs for your League, added, “While visiting members of Congress in Washington and frequently communicating with their staff is an important piece of our advocacy efforts, having in-branch visits by a member of Congress strengthens our 360 advocacy efforts even further.”
