Next class of honorees set to be announced at Convention

Since 1973, it’s been an annual tradition to honor individuals from credit unions across Maine for their contributions, dedication, and commitment to their credit unions as well as the Maine CU System.  On Friday evening, May 18, the tradition will continue when the next class of individuals will be honored and have accolades bestowed on them at the Annual Awards Banquet.

“The Maine CU System is, ultimately, about people and the Annual Awards program is an opportunity to honor some of those individuals who make a difference in credit unions across our state.  The Awards and Convention Committee is tasked with reveiwing nominations for all individuals nominated, and this year it was once again difficult to determine the winners because all of the nominees are all so deserving,” stated Vicki Stuart, Chair of the Maine CU League’s Annual Awards and Convention Committee.

While the winners have all been notified, in order to give them an opportunity to prepare remarks and to make sure that all of those special people are given a chance to attend if possible, only a few people outside of the Committee know who the recipients are.  For most of the nearly 500 expected in attendance at the Annual Dinner and Awards Banquet, the recipients will be a surprise.

The following Awards will be announced and presented at the Banquet: Alex Ferguson Award for Outstanding CU Volunteer; the Jeannette G. Morin Award for Outstanding CU Employee; the Jame M. Gratto Award for Outstanding CU CEO; the Diane Oceretko ‘People Helping People’ Award; and the League President’s Award.
