CU News & Events


Credit unions from around the state have proven that they’re truly part of the community over the last month. Active at parades, festivals, fundraisers and more, they’ve been supporting the credit union movement to the fullest. Here’s a quick look at not only what Maine CUs have been up to this past month, but what’s in store in the coming weeks as well:

  • Midcoast Federal Credit Union participated in the 71st Annual Lobster Festival Parade. (August 4)
  • cPort Credit Union hosted their first ‘Party at Peaks Island’ to celebrate members, friends, and family. (August 5)
  • New Dimensions Federal Credit Union participated in the 26th Annual Taste of Waterville, where they promoted financial education as being the most important investment one can make. (August 8)
  • Gardiner Federal Credit Union raised $1,020 for Special Olympics at their annual cookout. (August 9)
  • Otis Federal Credit Union raised $1,200 for Ending Hunger at their car wash and yard sale. (August 11)
  • Community Credit Union sponsored the dunk tank at the 4th Annual Summer Block Party, with food, fun, and music to benefit Make-A-Wish Maine. Among the long list of dunkees were Community CU’s own Jen Hogan and Natalie Michaud. (August 11)
  • Cumberland County Federal Credit Union hosted a grand opening of their new Yarmouth location. (August 11)
  • Brewer Federal Credit Union raised $1,800 for Ending Hunger at their 4th Annual Disc Golf Tournament. (August 12)
  • Infinity Federal Credit Union volunteered at the Boys & Girls Club. (August 15)
  • Franklin-Somerset Federal Credit Union celebrated a grand opening of their new branch in Stratton. (August 17)
  • NorState Federal Credit Union will be hosting their Ride to End Hunger on September 8.
  • Casco Federal Credit Union will be hosting their 2nd Annual Motorcycle Ride to End Hunger on September 8.
  • TruChoice Federal Credit Union will be participating in the Maine Children’s Cancer Program Walk on September 15.
  • Bangor Federal Credit Union will be hosting their Ending Hunger Golf Tournament on September 15.
  • Changing Seasons Federal Credit Union will be hosting their Bikes, Beans and Mean Machines Ride to End Hunger on September 15.
  • Atlantic Federal Credit Union will be hosting a car wash fundraiser to benefit the Freeport Community Services Food Pantry on September 15.
  • Sabattus Regional Credit Union will be hosting their Annual Bike Ride and BBQ to End Hunger on September 23.
