Sound-Off Competition Enters Voting Phase

February 22, 2017

With submissions from a variety of musicians, the Young & Free Maine's 'Sound Off' competition has entered the voting phase. From now until March 9, votes are being cast to determine the Top 2 in both the Soloist/Duo category and the Groups category. The Top 2 vote getters in both categories will then compete in the Sound-Off Showdown on March 23, in Bangor.

"There is a lot of musical talent in Maine, so voters have a difficult choice," explained Debra Trautman, Vice President of Corporate Marketing for the Maine Credit Union League, adding, "It's nice that we again received a diverse number of submissions covering a variety of musical genres."

On March 23, the finalists will compete before a panel of judges who will determine the winners in both categories.  Both winners will receive a $500 gift certificate for recording time at Main Street Studios, and a live performance spot at the 2017 Old Port Festival on the Townsquare Media stage.
