On Friday, June 14th, the Maine Credit Union League will host its 75th Annual Delegates' Meeting at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland.  The Meeting is part of the League's 75th Anniversary Meeting and Convention, which takes place June 14th and 15th.

As part of the celebration, the Maine Credit Union League expects a number of past League directors and other leaders involved with the League and Maine credit unions to attend.  The League anticipates close to 800 attendees.

Plans for this year's 75th Anniversary include a special video reflecting back on the history of the League and the future; keynote speakers including Bill Cheney, President of the Credit Union National Association and Jim Morris, the inspiration for the hit blockbuster movie, The Rookie; and commemorative banners and displays.  In addition, Congressman Michaud and Congresswoman Pingree are expected to attend and address attendees, while Senators Collins and King will address the Convention with special video messages.

"We have a lot to celebrate as an organization and as a movement.  It is great that so many integral people who helped to build the League and the Maine Credit Union System into the vibrant and successful organization it is today.  Our 75th Anniversary provides an opportunity to celebrate our past and to look ahead as we begin our next 75 years.  It should be a very special Convention and Meeting," explained John Murphy, President of the Maine Credit Union League, one of only four individuals who have served as President of the League in its 75 year history.
