April 24, 2017
On Monday, April 24, Todd Mason officially became the fourth President/CEO of the Maine Credit Union League and its subsidiary, Synergent. Mason, who has nearly 25 years of experience in the credit union and financial services industry, replaces John Murphy, who has retired after holding that position for 25 years.
Mason, whose appointment was announced in February after a nationwide search, is eager to join an organization that "is so focused on customer service. I am impressed by the quality of people and their commitment to helping others. I look forward to helping to facilitate that philosophy even more in the future." Mason also applauded the strength of the Maine CU System and its reputation. "Maine is well-known as one of the strongest credit union states in the country, and our primary role will remain dedicated on helping and assisting our credit unions serve the more than 685,000 credit union members in Maine."
Mason brings extensive experience in the financial services industry to his role, including, most recently, serving as Chief Strategy Officer for RouteOne, an indirect automotive lending technology company. Prior to that position, he enjoyed a 19 year career with the Michigan Credit Union League and Affiliates. While with the Michigan League, he served in a variety of capacities ranging from Vice President of Technology, Education and Marketing; to Chief Operating Officer for CU Solutions Group. He also helped launch the cooperative venture League InfoSight, where he served as its Chief Operating Officer.
