Maine CUs and Summer: A Great Combination
August 1, 2014
Maine are celebrating summer with events and activities. At many of these, the support of Maine's credit unions can be found because credit unions aren't just in Maine, they are part of Maine and all of the great things the state offers, especially in the summer.
During the month of August, look for Maine credit unions at the Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland; the World Acadian Congress in Aroostook County and every Portland Sea Dogs home game, as well as at a number of smaller events which dot the summer landscape in communities across Maine.
"It's about making a commitment to support not just consumers when it comes to financial services but to support the communities in which credit unions are located. Maine credit unions have a long history of being there for members and communities and the tradition continues this summer with a strong presence at some of Maine's most visible activities," explained Debra Trautman, Vice President of Corporate Marketing for the Maine Credit Union League.
Trautman said Maine credit unions were the sole sponsors of the Information Booth at the Maine Lobster Festival, helping to coordinate Maine Day at the World Acadian Congress in Aroostook County, and leading fans in the Seventh Inning Stretch at every Portland Sea Dogs home game this season. "It's about being where people are, and adding to the fun. Summer is so short in Maine so we want to celebrate and support activities as much as we can," added Trautman.
