Handful Of Maine CUs Welcome New CEOs

Monday, July 8, 2013

Over the past two months, with the retirement of long-time CEOs, five Maine credit unions have welcomed new leaders including Changing Season FCU in Hampden; Midcoast FCU in Bath; NorState FCU in Madawaska; Gardiner FCU in Gardiner; and York County FCU in Sanford.  All five new President/CEOs have significant credit union.

Since May, the new CEOs are: Scott Chretien at York County FCU, where he was formerly EVP; Sue Cross at Changing Seasons FCU, where she was formerly VP; Sue Whitehead at NorState FCU, where she was formerly EVP; Vicki Lemieux at Gardiner FCU, where she was formerly headed up the Loan Department; and Joe Gervais at Midcoast FCU.  Gervais served as EVP at another Maine CU and also spent several years at the Maine Credit Union League.

"The new leaders represent the next generation of credit union leadership.  While we lament the loss of credit union leaders who have spent decades helping and contributing to the growth of Maine's credit unions, their replacements bring new ideas and passion to their positions as they prepare to lead their credit unions into the future.  It's great that the transition has gone smoothly at each credit union, and we look forward to working with these individuals in their new positions," remarked John Murphy, President of the Maine Credit Union League.
