Enjoy The Sounds Of The Season, Thanks To Maine's Credit Unions
December 11, 2013
The Christmas In Maine 25th Anniversary Live Concert aired recently to a statewide audience on WCSH 6 and WLBZ 2, and will air throughout the month on Maine Public Broadcasting. Thanks to Maine's credit unions, consumers can purchase this first-of-its-kind holiday concert performance CD/DVD and help end hunger in Maine.
The concert was recorded in November 2012 at Gracie Theater at Husson University in Bangor, and the CD/DVD went on sale for two weeks last December and sold nearly 1,000 copies in that short period of time. The concert was sponsored by Maine's credit unions, and $6 from the sale of each CD/DVD go to the Maine Credit Unions' Campaign for Ending Hunger.
Response from audiences and consumers has been very strong, according to the Maine Credit Union League. "CUs’ Campaign for Ending Hugner are airing on radio stations across the state. “WCSH and WLBZ were so pleased with the ratings and response the concert received when it aired last year that they decided to air it at least twice this year,” remarked the Maine Credit Union League’s Jon Paradise, AVP of Governmental & Public Affairs. “Sales are off to a strong start this year, so we are hopeful that a lot of money will be raised for the Campaign.
The CD/DVD features an outstanding line-up of artists performing holiday songs including Noel Paul Stookey, Jonathan Edwards, Rick Charette, Melanie Dorice Saucier, and more. It also features the first live performance of The Maine Christmas Song by Con Fullam, who wrote the song in 1987. Fullam is backed up on the song by the Camden Hills Chamber Singers.
To order a copy(ies) of the CD/DVD for only $20 (each package includes both), click here or call 800.442.6715.
