Delegates’ Meeting Highlights League’s Successes
July 7, 2014
Delegates representing nearly 90% of the state’s credit unions received updates on various League activities and initiatives including a positive outlook from the League’s President John Murphy in his report and presentation at the Maine Credit Union League’s 76th Annual Meeting.
“Credit unions can be everywhere and are. As a result, consumers are connecting with credit unions through a variety of ways and in record numbers. With membership topping 641,000 in Maine, a robust statewide awareness campaign, new and enhanced multi-channel delivery of products and services to consumers, and strong advocacy, your League and Maine’s credit unions continue to grow and develop new relationships with existing and new members,” the League’s President John Murphy told Delegates and guests.
Delegates also re-elected Jim Lemieux, President/CEO of Sebasticook Valley FCU, to a new three-year term as an At-Large Director.
“The League is strong and is well-positioned as we move forward to embrace new opportunities as well as face challenges. It’s all about serving our members and credit unions are doing a great job of doing that on a consistent basis,” Murphy explained.
