Dirigo FCU is hiring a Member Service Representative to be on-site at its Lewiston location.
Dirigo FCU is a profitable and fast-growing community credit union headquartered in Lewiston, Maine. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Member Service Representative in our Lewiston office. We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, career-minded professional with the vision, passion, and ability to exceed the expectations of our member-owners. The ideal individual will assist members and potential members with their credit union needs; explain services, set up new accounts, respond to problems and cross-sell products and services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Assists members with opening and closing deposit and consumer loan accounts, answers questions about, and cross-sells Dirigo products and services to members.
- Resolves problems that are within their authority to resolve; and refers problems that are beyond their authority to their supervisor along with recommendations for resolution.
- Maintains member account information and ensures accuracy of data.
- Acts as a liaison between members, and other departments or organizations.
- Maintains credit union and member records and prepares required reports.
- Back up Tellers when needed to provide prompt and accurate transactions for members.
- Back up to Consumer Loan Officer in the direct lending channel
- Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input, scanning and promptly answering member and staff e-mail and phone calls.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR POSITION:
Experience and Skill Requirements: The following experience and skills are considered essential:
- 6 months to a year of similar or related experience.
- Strong member service skills.
- Knowledge of sales and relationship building skills.
- Knowledge and awareness of all credit union products and services.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of computers.
- Be trustworthy while working with sensitive information.
- Dependable- Ability to show up to work daily and on time.
- Accountability – Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
- Decision Making – Ability to make critical decisions while following credit union procedures.
- Interpersonal Skills – Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.

- High school diploma or GED
