November 20, 2007 The power of Maine's credit unions can also be felt on ice, as is illustrated by the Portland Pirates strong home record through ten home games this season. For the first time, Maine's credit unions are sponsors of the Credit Union Power Play at every Pirates home game. A quick fan favorite, the Credit Union Power Play is announced every time the Pirates have an extra player(s) advantage, drawing loud cheers from fans. The Pirates record at home now stands at an impressive 7 wins and 3 losses.
In addition, a special graphic has been created highlighting the CU Power Play and is shown on the Video Scoreboard at every Pirates home game. "We are thrilled to have an expanded partnership with Maine's credit unions and look forward to an exciting season," explained Brian Williams, President of the Portland Pirates.
Maine's credit unions and the Portland Pirates also announced that it will again offer five discount nights during the season. Through this special offer, tickets to selected games will be sold for only $8 each, a savings of $9 per ticket. The next Maine CU Discount Night with the Pirates is Saturday, December 15, at 7:05 p.m. vs. the Springfield Falcons.
