March 23, 2007 The Maine Credit Union League and three Maine credit unions were honored recently for leadership and support of financial education and counseling by Consumer Credit Counseling Services (CCCS) of Maine. The League was one of CCCS' founding organizations.
Along with recognizing Maine CU League President John Murphy, CCCS also present Partners In Financial Wellness Awards to Five County CU, Maine Highlands FCU, and University CU.
Rick Dobson, Jr., President of CCCS Maine, said Maine credit unions are wonderful partners in helping us help consumers. He explained, "Throughout our 35 year history, John Murphy and the Maine Credit Union League have successfully partnered to develop numerous alliances to assist Maine consumers and Maine Credit Union members. We are grateful for the more than $25,000 in contributions that Maine credit unions donated to CCCS in the past year."
