Play Ball! Maine Credit Unions Begin New Partnership With Sea Dogs

April 12, 2007

After snow postponed the first four home games of the 2007 Portland Sea Dogs season, the 2006 Eastern League champions were finally able to take the field on Monday, April 9, and begin their home schedule at Hadlock Field in Portland. Along with the excitement of a new season, Maine's credit unions and the Sea Dogs began a new partnership that fans will notice at all home games. Maine's credit unions are sponsoring the famous Seventh Inning Stretch at all Sea Dogs games this year.

As part of the partnership, Maine credit unions will air messages and video while fans are participating in the Seventh Inning Stretch festivities at every Sea Dogs game. Part of baseball tradition for many years, the seventh inning stretch is a time when fans stretch their legs and provide a boost to the home team as they prepare for the final innings of a game.

"Maine credit unions and the Sea Dogs combine two, great organizations that are both examples of community, spirit and teamwork. We are thrilled to be a part of the excitement and enthusiasm that fans experience at a Sea Dogs game. We look forward to being a part of another great Sea Dogs season," explained Jon Paradise, governmental and public affairs manager for the Maine Credit Union League.

In addition to being a sponsorship partner, Maine's credit unions will also host several discount nights during the season and once again be the lead sponsor of the 2007 Sea Dogs Team Photo Night on July 2nd, where every fan will receive a free 2007 Team Photo.
