July 16, 2007 As part of the 2007 Statewide Awareness Campaign, coordinated by the Maine Credit Union League, a new radio campaign airs from July 16-August 4, on stations across Maine. In the new ads, the savings that credit unions provide to members through lower and fewer fees and better rates, as well as the significant growth in access and convenience on the part of Maine credit unions are prominently featured.
FFor current and potential credit union members, these commercials provide a much clearer understanding of the benefits that using a Maine credit union can provide to consumers. The focus on education and awareness figures prominently in our radio campaign," explained Jon Paradise, Governmental & Public Affairs Manager for the Maine Credit Union League.
The :60 commercials are airing in all of Maine's major radio markets and the spots use the audio from the new Television commercials that recently aired this past spring.
"Hearing that there are more than 200 credit union locations throughout Maine, five times that of any other financial institution, and the fact that Maine consumers saved more than $40 million last year by using a credit union makes for a powerful audio message," Paradise added.
The new radio spots also tie-in the new consumer-oriented web site that the Maine Credit Union League unveiled this past spring providing additional information about Maine's credit unions in an easy-to-find format. The new site is at www.mainecreditunions.org.
