From offering savings to consumers to ending hunger, Legislators recognize Maine CUs before record crowd at State House

More than 125 credit union representatives from credit unions across Maine heard bipartisan praise from legislative leaders and legislators about the work and contribution of Maine credit unions to communities across Maine. "Credit unions are local and exist to serve their members, and that makes a difference," remarked House Minority Leader Ken Fredette. Senate Minority Leader Justin Alfond called the efforts of Maine credit unions to ending hunger "remarkable, especially the impact that your fundraising has on helping Maine children." CU Board Member elected to the Maine Senate, Looks forward to representing Maine CUs in Augusta

Maine Credit Union League receives Diamond Award for "Own It" Campaign

Out of nearly 1,500 entries from across the country, the Maine Credit Union League's Statewide Awareness Campaign, "Own It," received a prestigious Diamond Award at the Credit Union National Association's (CUNA) Marketing & Business Development Conference in Anaheim, California. CU Board Member Running For Maine Senate Seat In Special Election

PeoplesChoice Credit Union Board Member, Susan Deschambault, is running in the Special Election being held to fill the open Maine Senate seat in District 32 that was vacated in January when Senator David Dutremble announced his resignation due to personal reasons. As a Board Member, Deschambault, who lives in Biddeford and works for the Maine Correctional System, has been an active participant in credit union activities, and helped to organize two, CU-coordinated Financial Fitness Fairs at the Maine Correctional Center in Windham. Credit Unions have lots of 'spirit' to end hunger

For the third consecutive year, Maine's credit unions partnered with WGME CBS 13, FOX 23 and Good Shepherd Food Bank to present the Winter School Spirit Challenge. At the School Spirit Challenge Finale on Friday, March 4, at WGME's studios, Maine's credit unions helped to announce the winning school, and recognize all seven of the high schools that participated this year. Maine CU League Reports 100% Affiliation for 2016

Olympic Icon, Mark Spitz, Helps Maine CUs Announce Raising Record-Total Of $622,933 For Ending Hunger In 2015

On Tuesday, February 9, one of the greatest Olympic champions of all-time, Mark Spitz, joined Maine's credit unions at the Harraseeket Inn for the 2015 Ending Hunger Campaign Results Celebration Luncheon. At this annual event, credit unions are recognized for raising funds for the Maine Credit Unions' Campaign for Ending Hunger. The official, record-breaking total was announced—coming in at $622,933.63 raised during the 2015 Campaign—more than $70,000 greater than last year's record-breaking total. Read More...
