Survey By New England Company: CUs Continue To Receive Much Higher Scores Than Banks From Consumers

The Temkin Ratings company, which is based in Waban, Massachusetts, recently completed its annual Temkin Ratings Survey of consumers. This time, credit unions are the only financial institutions that made it into the Top 20 of all five consumer feedback categories. Time Has Begun For Maine’s 630,000 Credit Union Members To Be Heard

Today, the Maine Credit Union League and Maine's credit unions have launched an effort aimed at protecting the not-for-profit, member-owned structure of credit unions. As Congress considers tax reforms, Maine's 630,000 credit union members are being asked to preserve the credit unions' tax status. Without that, a credit union would no longer be a not-for-profit financial cooperative that exists to serve its members. Recently, ten Maine credit unions were recognized with a record nineteen awards as the 2013 honorees of the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Services Awards, the Louise Herring Philosophy In Action Member Service Awards, and the Desjardins Youth and Adult Financial Education Awards.
