Maine CUs’ Ending Hunger Walking Tour

History

Founded in 2002, the Maine CUs' Ending Hunger Walking Tour is a partnership between Maine's credit unions and Brenda Davis, Director Emeritus of Crossroads, a hunger organization serving eastern Maine, and a leading hunger advocate in Maine, to raise awareness and funds for ending hunger in Maine.  

2014 Tour - Recap!

2014 marked the 13th Annual Maine CUs' Ending Hunger Walking Tour, and was the longest-ever with the most communities visited.  The Tour kicked off with a pre-walk celebration in Old Town at Penobscot County FCU on October 23rd, followed by the 'official' walk kick-off on Friday, October 24th, at Maine State CU in Augusta.  This year's Walk ran from October 24-December 3, when it ended at University CU in Orono. 

SAVE THE DATES: 2015 Walking Tour will begin on Wednesday, October 21 with a pre-walk kick-off in Old Town, and "officially" begin on Friday, October 23 (at a location TBD depending on 2014 top fundraising CU).  It will end on Wednesday, December 2, at Brewer FCU's office on Dirigo Drive in Brewer.

Since it began, the Tour has covered more than 12,000 miles by foot and car, combined, and is part of the Maine Credit Unions' Campaign for Ending Hunger, which has raised more than $5.3 million to help end hunger in Maine!
