Maine's credit unions set a new fundraising record for the Maine Credit Unions' Campaign for Ending Hunger in 2014 by raising $552,257.43!

Five Maine CUs Receive Grants

Five Maine credit unions were among the recipients of grants announced by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). Nearly 300 credit unions nationwide received grants including the five in Maine. Collectively, the Maine CUs will receive nearly $40,000 in grants.

Food Pantries Praise Maine CUs For Timely Contribution

Representatives from many of the 33 food pantries that received contributions from the Maine Credit Unions' Campaign for Ending Hunger at the recent 'Share the Bread' events in Westbrook and Bangor called the timing of the contribution "very needed at a critical time. While others are enjoying days at the beach or the lake, we have many clients who can only focus on feeding their families. Summertime hunger is a big issue."

Congressman Poliquin Notes Proud CU Membership At Visits To Maine CUs

In the past three weeks, Congressman Bruce Poliquin has visited three Maine credit unions, and reiterated his support for credit unions and also noted that he is a long-time credit union member. Last week, Congressman Poliquin made his first appearance in the Town of Ellsworth since taking office, and that visit was to Seaboard FCU's branch, and he also visited NorState FCU in Madawaska.
