World Acadian Congress 2014 License PlateThe World Acadian Congress is coming to Maine this summer!  Celebrate by getting your commemorative World Acadian Congress (WAC) 2014 License plates right here!  Special legislation permits putting it on as your front license plate through December 2015.

Maine CUs Record Second Highest Total Ever For Volunteer Hours

With National Volunteer Week recently wrapped up, the Maine Credit Union League announced the results of the 2013 CUs’ Share for ME Program, the Program that tracks volunteer hours as reported by credit unions. The 2013 total was the second-highest ever with more than 37,000 hours documented by 40 credit unions. The value of the volunteer hours, according to the Points Of Light Foundation, represents nearly $800,000.

Maine CUs' Financial Education Efforts Noted As National CU Youth Week Begins

A Resolution declaring April as Fostering Financial Education Month in Maine notes the collaboration of Maine’s credit unions in “working with other organizations to coordinate events and support activities to highlight the criticality of helping and encouraging Maine’s young people to become financially capable adults in order to fulfill their life’s dreams and aspirations.”

Maine League Recognized For Financial Education Initiatives, Results

Recently, the Maine Credit Union League received a First-Place Desjardins Award for Financial Education for its initiatives and results achieved during the 2012/13 school year. The award was presented at a special Awards Reception held by the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) in Washington, D.C.
