And She's Off!
The 15th Annual Maine CUs' Ending Hunger Walking Tour is underway. Pictured here is Brenda Davis (center) at Maine State CU starting on a journey that will take her to 90 communities before ending on November 21st in Bangor. The week of October 24, the Tour will be in: Island Falls, Ashland, Eagle Lake, St. Francis, Fort Kent, Madawaska, St. Agatha, Van Buren, Fort Fairfield, Caribou, Presque Isle, Houlton, Calais, Machias, Millinocket, East Millinocket, Lincoln and Howland. A food pantry in every community will receive a contribution from Maine's credit unions. Look for Brenda on the road all month!
The 2016/17 school year has begun, and planning for Financial Fitness - Money Management Experience events at high schools across Maine is underway. The ceremony announcing the record-setting 2015 Maine Credit Unions' Campaign for Ending Hunger total featured Olympic icon, Mark Spitz (at right), who won 7 Gold Medals at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich and is a hunger advocate.
